Who We Are
Dave Hosie - Director
Founded Dynamic Resources in 2020 after a career as a drilling contractor then in the oilfield service sector spanning 35 years. Dave ventured into the industry by joining Sonat Offshore as rig crew in 1990 before moving into Drilling Fluids in 1996. Dave then spent 24 years with M-I Swaco in various roles from fluids engineer through to various client facing & management roles. During this time he worked onsite & managed projects major & independent operators in the US, North Africa & North Sea.
Here’s what Dave said when asked why he founded Dynamic Resources Ltd.
“Over the years in various roles, it became apparent to me that there is a distinct lack of "hands on" experience in the recruitment business sector when it comes to understanding the challenges faced by clients.”
“Operators, Service Partners & Support Services all have the same demand signal in most cases. This is more so in the activity ramps where our industry finds itself looking at CV libraries and using buzzwords & drop downs where the correct candidate is as good as the database search results.
“That is not what we’re about. It’s our goal to change the mindset in recruitment, where we discuss the operations & understand the challenges alongside our clients. We want to take some of the workload of vetting on behalf of our clients as part of the service.”
“The understanding of criticality and competency requirements will be at the forefront of our business. Having the operational knowledge to discuss the clients and contractors will enable correct candidate placements and in turn deliver in class service. This will not only be in the field but also our engineering advisory work fluids, cementing and associated services.”
“Everyone is stretched to varying degrees, with constraints in place to protect their businesses and react to the market swings. Our fluids & cement advisory services aim to plug the gaps where assistance is required, to overcome challenges that are related to the well design constraints, remote location or supply chain delays.”
Robbie Mearns - Cement Specialist
With over 19 years cementing experience, Robbie joined Dynamic Resources Ltd from Halliburton. His career started in Aberdeen back in 2007 before more recently working throughout Southeast Asia. Robbie started out working in a cement laboratory gaining vital experience in design of the cement slurries, while continuing to visit the rig and participate in the execution of the cement jobs.
After graduating from Robert Gordon University with a BSc, his career then took him into Engineering before latterly moving to Thailand in 2016. In Asia he continued his cementing knowledge, while gaining vital international experience working global operators. During this time, Robbie moved into the role of ‘Senior Technical Lead’ in Thailand whilst continuing to engage customers at a business development level.
Gus Kennedy - Fluids Specialist
With over 46 years Drilling Fluids experience, Gus joined forces with Dynamic Resources Ltd in 2022. His career started in Egypt in 1980 when he joined Dresser Magcobar as a field engineer later moving to Aberdeen. Throughout the years he mainly worked for M-I Drilling Fluids but also represented Milchem, MGA & Clear Solutions in various technical roles associated with drilling fluids.
Gus has extensive UK North Sea experience but also worked in various global locations such as the US GOM, Mexico, Australia, Malaysia, Oman, Greenland, Falkland Islands & Senegal.
Gus was at the forefront of various product developments from conception to field trials throughout the years. It was during these projects that extensive hydraulics calculations/simulations were required for validation. This was a field of experience that Gus developed further in subsequent years & in turn headed up the M-I Swaco PressPro RT (real time hydraulics) business line as the first global PPRT Manager. Gus travelled the globe promoting and teaching hydraulics at advanced mud schools to increase the overall hydraulics understanding for field/desk engineers.
In recent years he has worked freelance on high technical demand projects including Talisman/Repsol (Malaysia) & Woodside (Senegal) and as fluids advisor for various operators.
